new guinness ad.
"For the best part of ten years, Guinness ads bearing the slogan 'Good Things Come To Those Who Wait' have worked wonders for the drinks brand, garnering fans of both the drink and its advertising around the world. However, tonight a new TV commercial - created by the brand's long serving agency Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO - will air that sees a new campaign line, Bring It To Life, make its debut.
The new ad, entitled World, sees a group of men playing god and creating a world of their own: Canyons are carved, forests erected and waterfalls are, erm, encouraged - the idea being that this world-creation is a metaphor for the famous surge and settle motion of a pint of Guinness and the way it comes alive in front of your eyes when poured."

BP PORTRAIT
i also managed to look at the BP portrait awards in the portrait gallery on the way back from the BFI..
onedotzero.
A week later i spent the day in london without the rum and red stripe, but had an equally worthwhile time.
it was the onedotzero 'adventures in motion' festival at the British Film Institution on the southbank, which was on from the 9th to the 13th of september. there was loads and loads of stuff packed into the four days across digital animation, motion graphics, experimental shorts, and music videos by upcoming and established talent.
i went on the thursday for the 'onedotzero_cascade' exhibition and discussion. this was a multi-disciplinary workshop that lasted 4 days and included 40 first and second year graduates from 22 uk universities (most of them D&AD winners) over 17 disciplines, supported by GLUE LONDON and D&AD.
seriously talented load of people. the work was pretty good but it was the panel discussion in the afternoon, which consisted of 2 graduates from the programme and 4 respected industry figures, that i took most from. really insightful comments and advice.
