Hit & Red.

Great tune + video. The joys of working with music you actually like (all produced on After Effects CS3).

STOPMOO

Ive never really considered doing any stop-motion animation before for some reason but i was blown away by this. It's the music video for Wave Machine's track "The Greatest Escape We Ever Made", directed by Stuart Lanceley and produced by Token Films.

WHO'S DOING WHAT TO WHO?

This is the edit of the video i handed in last week, its pretty shit. there's a variety of improvements to be made, the animation and transitions in particular, and i want to composite footage onto the TV screens as the video progresses (the same as the TEST footage from the seminar room shoot). As well as the stationary shots, i could try to mask moving shots from the dolly, however as there are no distinguishing areas to track on the tv's, motion tracking will be difficult, and it would be the case of editing frame by frame. Time consuming, but may be worth the hours. Also the audio is horribly out of synch in a number of areas. It synchs fine in final cut, but lags when i export it out? need to address this asap

BRIGHTAAN.

Had a really good time down in brighton the other day when i went to visit mates from home, proper surreal little place with all the lanes and stuff - v quadrophenia. The little flyer they did for chris's birthday bash -

OBLONG.

For the last 6 weeks or so i've been working down at Oblong for my Send & Receive project, a community resource centre based in Woodhouse, who essentially provide advice, support, and facilities for locals who want to make a difference through volunteering and community projects. I've been with the design collective throughout, and more recently the moving image sub-group which has just begun to take shape. Here are some photographs of filming from the latest project - a graffiti documentary within Hyde Park and surrounding areas.

WEBSITE.

I read about Dan Kitchener coming back to Leeds on a megabus at half 6 in the morning, so his stuff can't be too bad eh. He's worked with shit loads of people, from Ian Brown to Kylie to Disney to Channel 4 sex education shows. Below is his showreel from 2009 which i pinched off his site.

SHUNT

Also i feel i must commemorate the visit by archiving our evening entertainment at SHUNT underneath london bridge. wierd. They played really obscure electronica and showcased lots of experimental film throughout, with the main attraction being a live set from Adelbert Strasse & Morshul Dull - who apparently were original members of cult 70's German electronics band POWERPACK. They were also after bums. Yes.

Strange one but a great trip nonetheless. Bedtime now, lots of sleep for an epic days critical studies tomorrow. Lord lord

L Town

London was good times indeed, i hate going because as soon as i arrive it makes leeds and everywhere else seem so bad. Me and tom met up in shoreditch after abit of a walk from bethnal green and managed to find that Goldie exhibition i was talking about before. It was mint, i got some photographs off my phone too-

GOLDIE!

I dug out two of my favourite reads when cleaning out my room back home over easter - spraycan art and subway art - probably two of the most iconic graffiti books published. I havent painted for ages and never really got too daring with it, but some of the stuff in these books is still pretty inspiring for me now. id love to dig out my sketchbooks from years back and see what they look like, pure cringeworthy no doubt.

Theres some youthful photographs of goldie in there too with some of his paintings which i should really have scanned in, fucking legend.

As im going to london on thursday i will try and have a look in his latest exhibition. 'the kids are all riot' is at the maverik showroom in shoreditch from the 10th til the 26th of april.

Bathtub fire

Two nice music videos, both time lapsed and masked with a tilt-shift lens filter to create a small scale 'model' effect.
